These are everything you want from Nylon tongs. Food can sometimes get stuck on the inside and cleaning it might take some extra effort. Don't do that.
I don't know about everyone, but the whole point of buying Nylon Tongs is to not scratch non-stick cookware. Just common sense if you ask me. People complain about them melting on high heat or on certain types of cookware.
You will ruin the nylon edges of the tongs. Hence you should only use it with non-stick cookware - where these work wonderfully. Why would you use this on cast iron.
My only complaint is that the inside of the arms might be hard to clean cause its essentially a U shaped gutter. Other than that its perfect.
My daughter-in-law had a pair of these tongs in her kitchen when I visited her and my son recently and I really liked them. It makes it so much easier to turn over a piece of meat or anything w/o leaving half of the item in the pan. Upon returning home, I immediately ordered them. Still love them.
Using a fork pierces the food and allows the juices to run out, while the tongs preserve the food flavor. These are great for the kitchen and the nylon heads are very safe when using teflon-coated pans. The locking feature is very easy to use and the length is perfect for turning foods on the stove or in the oven. I use these almost every day and they've held up very well and clean-up is a breeze. A great Oxo product.
Sturdy. Love em. Not too big. Lockable.and they don't fly open when you set them down. I like the nylon tongy parts cuz they don't scratch your nonstick pans.
But be very careful with high heat situations. Very will made tongs and I love the easy locking feature. The tongs say 400 degrees max and that's an overstatement. It's the best I've used. I bought them for a new set of non-stick pans, for which they work great. When I grabbed them for flipping steaks on the grill instead of my old stainless tongs, the tips melted. So save these for your non-stick cookware and don't throw out your old stainless steel tongs - keep them for the high heat situations.
